Training is based on the current AS/NZS4815 Standards, the NHMRC Guidelines and the ADA Guidelines for Infection Control. CPD hours are available with this training.

  • Design, cleaning and maintenance of surgery areas

  • Storage of instruments

  • Use of disinfectants/detergents

  • Water asepsis

  • Protocols for opening and closing of surgery

  • Organisation and design of sterilising area (including zoning and flow)

  • Protocols for opening and closing of reprocessing area

  • Maintenance, testing and documenting of equipment

  • Calibration and validation of sterilisers

  • Loading and unloading of sterilisers

  • Interpreting load release result

  • Mechanical cleaning of instruments

  • Manual cleaning of instruments

  • Packaging of instruments for reprocessing

  • BCI (Tracking)

  • Managing impressions

  • Management of spills

  • Management of sharps/splash injury
